Gordon Kenney Harris

Gordon Kenney Harris
Gordon Kenney Harris, 77, peacefully passed away on April 26, 2008 in Provo, Utah, after battling renal disease for 10 years. Gordon was born on May 31, 1930 in Magrath, Alberta Canada to George Lewis and Leona Holman Harris. He was the youngest of 3 children. His early education was in Alberta, Canada and he continued his education at Brigham Young University, receiving his Bachelors of Science degree in Agronomy with a minor in Chemistry. He furthered his education earning a Masters degree in Agronomy at the University of Nevada, Reno.
After completing his education he pursued a career in Research Agronomy working for Ellison Milling, in Lethbridge, Canada; for the Canadian Government; as The Utah State Seed Analyst in SLC; and finally for US Borax from 1965 to 1977 in Southern California. In 1977 he moved to Provo, Utah and began a career in Real Estate. He was a very hard worker and always continued his education; as a result he earned many awards for his excellence in the Real Estate field. When he passed away he had a current broker's license. With his outstanding people skills and positive attitude, he enjoyed success and great friendships wherever he went.
Gordon was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a very vibrant testimony. He served an honorable mission in Eastern Canada from Oct. 1950 Ð 1952. He always served 100% in every calling he received, especially his favorite, being a home teacher.
After his mission, while attending BYU Gordon was introduced to his future wife and love of his life, Carol ReNe' Terry, on a blind date. They were married six months later, on June 5, 1953 in the LDS Manti Temple. Together they raised 7 children and enjoyed 57 years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Harold; and son, Dennis Gordon Harris. He is survived by his wife of Provo; 6 children: Terry Lyn Stewart (Blaine) of Canyon Country, California; Julia Ann Stephens (Kyle) of Las Vegas, Nevada; Brenda Gay Kovalenko, (Mikel) of Marysville, Washington; Bonnie Jean Conger (Ray) of Orem, Utah; Richard Wayne Harris (Dallas) of Highland, Utah; John Kenney Harris (Angela) of Herriman, Utah; 32 Grandchildren; 19 Great-grandchildren; and sister, Betty Harris Murray.

Renfroe, Sherry Acord

Sherry Acord Renfroe, of Edmond, wife of Dr. Jerry D. Renfroe, M.D., passed away on Saturday, 29 March 2008 in Durango, Colorado of natural causes at the age of 69. Sherry had been battling several conditions, including leukemia and congestive heart failure. She was visiting their Colorado vacation home, her favorite place to be, when she became irreversibly ill. All of her children flew there to be with her during her final week in the hospital, as she gave a good fight to survive. Now she is with the Lord, along with many of her family who have gone before her, including her twin sister, her mother, and her father, who died exactly twenty years prior, to the exact day. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend, Sherry was loved by many. A devout Christian and lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she was always active in the Church and could be found there leading choirs, singing with her beautiful voice, and teaching. She was always involved in the Deer Creek community as her children grew up active in various school activities. A lover of beautiful things, Sherry enjoyed decorating and remodeling their home, hosting parties and gatherings, including her famous “Christmas Breakfast,” planning all of her children’s weddings, and simply any other task people would ask her help on. She loved spending time at Lake Eufaula at the Family cabin, where she’d swim, boat and ride the wave-runner with her kids and later, grandkids. She dearly loved her circle of lifelong friends, who had a tradition of going out to lunch together often. Her greatest legacy, however, will be her grandchildren, ranging in ages of eighteen down to age two, including twins and triplets, of which all twenty-one grandkids worshiped her as she was the perfect, most loving grandma in the world. Sherry is survived by her husband of nearly 48 years, Dr. Jerry D. Renfroe, her five children, Jerry P. Renfroe (and wife Melissa) of California; Kathleen Soukup (and husband Eric) of Edmond; Jennifer L. Kennedy (and husband Levi) of North Carolina; Deborah K. Renfroe (and husband Graham Fishburn) of Blanchard; and Robyn R. Cowan (and husband Carter) of Broken Arrow. She is also survived by her siblings, Connie Bergstedt, Susan Barlocker, Vickie Bybee, Donald Acord, and Tammy Ririe, as well as by her twenty-one grandchildren and various aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. There will a viewing for her on Wednesday evening, 2 April from 6-8 p.m. at Baggerley Funeral Home , 930 S. Broadway in Edmond. Her funeral is Thursday, 3 April at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (North Stake Center), 5020 N.W. 63rd Street in Oklahoma City.
